Sometimes as photographer, we get trapped with shooting styles we are familiar with by going with the same concept over and over again.  Photographing Jason and Star was a huge contrast of the typical engagement shoot.  Since the both of them are working professionals, it became a point of emphasis in this shoot. The past few months I have been doing a lot of portraits, corporate and advertising work, so I made a decision to create a new website to display and market my photography.  I wanted a site with a lot of negative space, clean, easy to navigate and most importantly with emphasis on the photos and not the site.  It is a hybrid site of both percentages and pixels designed by yours truly, yes me.  It was fun and exciting to teach myself a little bit HTML, CSS, PHP and Java Script.

This past February of 2010 I was honored to be selected as a winner of A Gold and A Silver Addy photography award by Houston’s American Advertising Federation in the regional section (I have qualified for national).  It was a joy to share it with some of my good friends such as Mariam, Stephanie, Dewayne, Abby and Caroline.  I have a feeling there are more accolades to come with this group.

Six hours later I was on my way to Austin, TX  for my younger brother’s weddomg.  Yikes!

I have had the pleasure of working with the Knauss’ who run an intervention consulting services (www.viprecovery.com) a couple of times.  Each session was a blast and they made my job easier by being themselves.  The latest project was based on their Son Brandon, who is Dr. Phil’s most successful story.  The images ran on Dr. Phil’s web and print campaigns, which you can view below.  The print ran in Oprah’s “O Magazine” while the web campaign ran on Dr. Phil’s website.

I got the opportunity to photograph the engagement session of William and Jill, a lovely couple.  We actually shot at two different locations which was a first for me but it was fun.  Here are some of my favorite images from the session.

Earlier this year, I got a chance to photography Phill and Liz Ortega on their wedding day.  It was a very intimate wedding consisting of the couple, myself and the minister.  I must say it was great.  We then headed to Downtown Houston to get some cool shots.  Here are some of my favorites.

I have decided to begin my blog with a Wedding I shot about a year ago in Weimer, Texas.  The awesome Groom and Bride provided me with an atmosphere to be creative and capture the essence of their big day!  Here are some of my favorite images.
